Word Processor/Receptionist

Reston law firm seeks a highly skilled Word Processor/Receptionist. This position provides word processing, assistance with support at secretarial stations, computer and problem solving support to attorneys, paralegals, secretaries and support staff, and prioritizes the flow of work in and out of the Word Processing Department.  The qualified candidate’s primary responsibility will be to produce, format and revise complex legal documents and/or statistical reports with minimal supervision.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing documents in a multi-software environment; editing and proofreading legal documents; transcribing dictation tapes and voicemails; converting and formulating Excel data; creating and revising PowerPoint presentations, including diagrams, from handwritten and/or typed texts; various CD linking projects; and assisting other staff members throughout the Firm.  The individual hired will also have to cover the Receptionist Desk for the lunch hour and 4 pm to 6 pm.

Professionalism, resourcefulness and a strong work ethic are essential. Successful candidate must exhibit attention to detail, possess organizational, proofing and editing skills and be able to multi-task.  Position requires high-level proficiency and qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma and a minimum of two (2) years of related word processing/secretarial experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  Required job skills include, but are not limited to, keyboarding at 60 words per minute, advanced proficiency in Microsoft 2010 Office Suite, PDF Converter, Adobe, and document management systems. Legal experience is a plus.

The ideal candidate will also be a self-starter with a professional demeanor and excellent grammatical and communication (written and verbal) skills. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to maintain a high level of customer service. The candidate must also have excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and have a team-oriented attitude.
