One of the most commonly asked questions I get from small business owners, many of whom are starting their business for the first time, is: “do I need liability insurance?” The second question is, “if so, how much do I need?”. To the first question, I invariably answer “yes!” To answer the second question, I need to know what business you will be conducting, whether you will have employees, and what other risks do you wish to avoid. These factors not only will influence the type of liability insurance you will need, but also how much protection you need.
