Jo Anne Bitner is a principal of the firm and a member of the Real Estate & Land Use practice group. Her practice focuses on residential and commercial real estate development and transactional law. Ms. Bitner has extensive experience in the preparation of condominium and property owners’ association documentation, development agreements, deeds of subdivision and easement, and golf course covenants and agreements. She is proficient in drafting and negotiating contracts for the purchase and sale of real property, and represents clients in all aspects of the acquisition, development and sale of commercial and residential real estate.
Ms. Bitner’s clients include many national and regional builders and developers, and her work has been instrumental in the development of many large commercial and residential projects in Northern Virginia. Ms. Bitner served on the Board of Zoning Appeals for the Town of Vienna, Virginia. She was a founding board member of HomeAid Northern Virginia, a charitable arm of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association, that partners with builders and developers to provide for the construction and renovation of shelters for the transitionally homeless. Ms. Bitner is actively involved with Women Giving Back, a charitable task force of HomeAid that provides clothing and accessories for transitionally homeless women re-entering the work force.
In 2011, Ms. Bitner was recognized among Virgina's 'Legal Elite' by Virginia Business magazine.
