Daniel Ingersoll complements a practical understanding of the business world with sophisticated legal knowledge by relying on his experience as a corporate and mergers and acquisitions attorney as well as his education, including his recent graduation with a master’s degree in securities law from Georgetown. In his everyday practice, Daniel takes time to understand his clients on a personal level. The relationships he builds with his clients are important to him. Knowing the importance and stress of the legal issues that his clients face, Daniel focuses on being responsive and available while also working to create unique solutions to fit their needs.
Daniel’s practice areas include mergers and acquisitions, securities law issues, corporate governance, commercial transactions, and general corporate and tax law issues. He also counsels individuals on estate and tax issues. Daniel has co-authored articles on tax law issues, and recently was quoted in an article in Virginia Business magazine. He also has been featured in several radio shows on Power of Attorney radio discussing start-up business issues.
Daniel’s transactional business experience includes advising individuals and businesses on commercial acquisitions, purchase or sale of business ownership interests, entity formation and start-up business planning, debt and equity financing transactions, succession planning, and matters before the Internal Revenue Service.
Daniel received a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Virginia and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond. Prior to attending law school, he spent three years working as a complex litigation paralegal in Washington, D.C., where he assisted with cases in both state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate levels, in areas including insurance coverage and business contract disputes.
In 2015 and 2016, he was named to the annual “Legal Elite” listing published by Virginia Business magazine for the Corporate Counsel category.
